Long-planned renovation project for Cabrillo High School stadium moves forward

VANDENBERG VILLAGE, Calif. – A long-planned renovation and modernization project for the Cabrillo High School stadium is gaining momentum and is moving forward.

A group of community members formed a committee and is now collaborating with Lompoc Unified School District (LUSD) in an effort to fund the multi-million dollar project.

Spectrum Center Renovation Renderings Released

Friday morning, Hornets Sports & Entertainment unveiled the renderings for the renovations that Spectrum Center will undergo over the next two years. To ensure that the renovations will be completed on time, Spectrum Center will be closed from May to September for the next two summers. Latest renovation plans, price tags for Norfolk Scope, Chrysler Hall shared

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk City Council got an update on proposed renovations for both Chrysler Hall and Scope Arena on Tuesday, including the latest price tag for both.

The new projected cost for the Chrysler renovation is about $87 million without the potential use of tax credits. That’s $10 million less than the projected figure shared just a few months ago by planners.

The city’s been wanting to renovate the 5-decade-old Chrysler Hall for years now, but the process was put on pause due to the pandemic and concerns over increased construction costs.

Plazas on Temple Square to reopen Jan. 6 – Church News

Beginning Saturday, Jan. 6, several Temple Square plaza areas will reopen for public access following renovation work, while the Assembly Hall and surrounding gardens and facilities will be closed for their limited renovations and renewals.

The openings and closures are part of the ongoing Temple Square and Salt Lake Temple renovation projects.

Regina’s Globe Theater to reopen in fall after major renovations

Canada’s only permanent theatre-in-the-round was hollowed out like a pumpkin nearly four years ago.

Work crews removed thousands of kilograms of concrete. They added reinforcements and new features.

More than $40 million later, the Globe Theater in Regina, Saskatchewan’s largest professional theater company, is almost ready to reopen.

“It’s been a labor of love for many people but a massive undertaking,” executive director Jaime Boldt says while providing a tour of the construction site.

Flooring, tiles and fixtures have not yet been added, but patrons can already get a sense of the new space before its scheduled reopening in November.

Renovation, Now Complete, Restores Historic Chapel’s Victorian Palette

“We uncovered a lot of smoke damage,” Zehmer said. “I think you ended up with a combination of both poor lighting and purposely darkened finishes that made this place very dark. And probably part of that played into the Gothic mindset and aesthetic.”

Conservation and restoration specialists from John Canning Co. of Cheshire, Connecticut, worked on the interior woodwork, stripping it down to the original wood and then staining it.
