Fifty-eight Year 11 students from across the northern suburbs spent the year learning vital trade skills by renovating the aged Elizabeth Downs family home.

Following 12 months of hard work, the now unrecognizable property has been handed back to Housing SA to be passed onto new tenants.

A COMPLETE renovation of a “chocolate ripple brick house” has transformed a Highton property into a modern family home.

The layout may have stayed relatively the same but the house at 10 Oakbank Ave looks like a new home.

Emma and Nick Jarman bought the property about eight years ago for $483,500 after returning from Dubai and spent two years searching for what they wanted.

Italy overturns ‘superbonus’ scheme for housing renovation – Euractiv

The Italian government led by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has adopted a radical overhaul of the country’s fed ‘superbonus’ incentive scheme aimed at renovating buildings and improving energy efficiency.

“The superbonus from my point of view was conceived with good intentions,” Meloni said on Sunday (19 February).

“However, the measure was so badly designed and so poorly executed that it generated a huge number of problems that we have now inherited and are required to address,” she said in a Twitter videos explaining the new measures, which were adopted on 16 February.

Renovations to Winthrop House—including the five-story Beren Hall addition—will be completed ahead of schedule, enabling all residents to move back to the House in August 2017.

Winthrop’s Gore and Standish Halls, built in 1914 to house freshmen, have been under construction since summer 2016. Beren Hall, named for donor Robert M. Beren ’47, was originally expected to open after the rest of the House.
