Christmas St, Northcote house for sale after calming renovation

Christmas has come early for family home buyers, with a Victorian gift wrapped in an on-trend renovation hitting the Northcote market.

Not only have vendors Justine and Nick Harvey done all the hard work for the next owners of the four-bedroom house, they’ll also elicit a smile every time they tell someone their new address: 32 Christmas St.

“Everyone seems to know Christmas St,” Ms Harvey said.

“It’s a gorgeous, wide, tree-lined street, with great neighbors and close to High St and all the shops, and All Nations park.”

COLUMBUS, Ohio (COLUMBUS BUSINESS FIRST) — Many a Columbus resident can remember the window displays at the Lazarus department store along Town and High streets. Fewer may know that further down Town Street is a grand brick mansion where the Lazarus family used to live.

Now, a young couple is working to breathe life back into the home and hopes to invite area residents in soon.

Homeowners and local contractors square off over a Forest Glade renovation project

The inside of Karen and Darryl Dagenais’s house looks as if it’s under construction. No drywall, electrical switches or lights. And only a couple of plugs to power the kitchen appliances.

The two say they had to rip out all the plaster and insulation last year because it had been badly damaged from rain water pouring into the house through tarps serving as a temporary roof.

“It was basically like Niagara Falls in our home,” Karen said, adding the roof had been removed during a renovation project to add two more levels to their back-split home in Windsor’s Forest Glade
