Eight year house renovation a labor of love in Highton

A COMPLETE renovation of a “chocolate ripple brick house” has transformed a Highton property into a modern family home.

The layout may have stayed relatively the same but the house at 10 Oakbank Ave looks like a new home.

Emma and Nick Jarman bought the property about eight years ago for $483,500 after returning from Dubai and spent two years searching for what they wanted.

PALM Springs may be a long way from Brisbane, but you wouldn’t know it stepping inside this Ascot masterpiece.

Inspired by the US desert resort city, seasoned renovators Rebecca and Francisco Smout set out to create a luxurious, yet relaxed, renovation of a 1930s Queenslander at 14 Abbott Street.

“The Palm Springs inspiration comes from summer vibes and really appeals to our Queensland lifestyle,” Mrs Smout said.
