Italy overturns ‘superbonus’ scheme for housing renovation – Euractiv

The Italian government led by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has adopted a radical overhaul of the country’s fed ‘superbonus’ incentive scheme aimed at renovating buildings and improving energy efficiency.

“The superbonus from my point of view was conceived with good intentions,” Meloni said on Sunday (19 February).

“However, the measure was so badly designed and so poorly executed that it generated a huge number of problems that we have now inherited and are required to address,” she said in a Twitter videos explaining the new measures, which were adopted on 16 February.

Winthrop House Renovation Will Be Completed By August | News

Renovations to Winthrop House—including the five-story Beren Hall addition—will be completed ahead of schedule, enabling all residents to move back to the House in August 2017.

Winthrop’s Gore and Standish Halls, built in 1914 to house freshmen, have been under construction since summer 2016. Beren Hall, named for donor Robert M. Beren ’47, was originally expected to open after the rest of the House.

According to Winthrop House Faculty Dean Stephanie R. Robinson, the early completion of Beren Hall will eliminate the need for overflow housing in the DeWolfe St. apartments and allow all students to live in the House
