Lazarus House renovation ongoing | NBC4 WCMH-TV

COLUMBUS, Ohio (COLUMBUS BUSINESS FIRST) — Many a Columbus resident can remember the window displays at the Lazarus department store along Town and High streets. Fewer may know that further down Town Street is a grand brick mansion where the Lazarus family used to live.

Now, a young couple is working to breathe life back into the home and hopes to invite area residents in soon.

‘Built for good’: Ramsdell House renovation unearths historic discoveries | News

CEREDO Little did Debbie Wolfe know when she began a renovation at the ZD Ramsdell House she would crack open a trove of Civil War treasures revealing more fully the significance of the house to American history.

Wolfe was asked to oversee the rehabilitation of the house, built in 1858 by Zophar Ramsdell, a New England abolitionist recruited to the area to establish an anti-slavery colony. She began the process in January 2019; a dedication ceremony took place in September.
